Passover Prairie Polka
Soul Tune Singers
A song for Passover
Don’t give me a bagel or a sesame bun,
‘Cause tonight is the Seder, and we’ll all have lots of fun!
We’re setting the table; we’re pouring the wine,
‘Cause tonight, tonight is Passover time!
Chorus:
And we’ll have lots and lots of matzah, a gallon full of wine.
We’ll tell the tale of freedom, the one that’s yours and mine,
And we will sing the song Dayeinu until we’ve had enough,
‘Cause tonight is Passover time!
Aunt Sophie is coming and Uncle Bernard,
And twenty-two cousins, enough to fill the yard!
We’ll ask the four questions, pour Elijah a drink,
‘Cause tonight, tonight is Passover time!
Repeat Chorus
It’s late and we’re sleeping but we still stick around.
Before we can end the afikoman must be found!
Look under the pillow that’s on Grandpa’s chair,
‘Cause that’s where he hides it every single year,
Chorus:
When we have lots and lots of matsah (continue as above)
And we had lots and lots of matsah, a gallon full of wine.
We told the tale of freedom, the one that’s yours and mine,
And we all sang the song Dayeinu until we had enough,
Yes, tonight was Passover time!
Yes, tonight was Passover time!
