Math Song
Children's Song Lyrics and Sound Clip
Laura Freeman
I have a secret to tell you
So Please don’t tell anyone
You might think it’s kind of gross but
I think MATH is fun
Without math we wouldn’t know what half is
We couldn’t chart our progress on a graph
With no numbers sums or long equations
How could we calculate the height of a giraffe?
Without math we wouldn’t have the Eiffel tower
Without math computers would be no fun
Without math we wouldn’t know that 10 to the 10th power equals
10 Billion
With out math we wouldn’t even have one
So next time you’re adding or subtracting
Multiplying or doing long division
Think of all the ways math appears in your life
And you’ll think math is fun
We use math to add up numbers add up pennies add up pounds
Math to find the notes on a guitar
Math to know how many miles to Grandma’s house
And how long the trip will take traveling at 60 miles an hour
with two fifteen minute pit stops
We use math to learn the age of dinosaur bones
Math to equally divide a pie
Math to tell us the price of fifteen ice-cream cones
Math to get aeroplanes to fly
Repeat first two verses plus or minus the second chorus divided
by the number of people singing along!!!
